The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Sta. Cruz, Laguna was awarded as the 3rd model CENR Office in CALABARZON for CY 2022.

OIC-CENRO Venerando U. Garcia received the Certificate of Recognition from Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria, and Assistant Regional Directors for Management and Technical Services, Ronita A. Unlayao and Jose Elmer C. Bascos, respectively.

Criteria such as Office and Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) Rating, overall Office Management, compliance to assignments given by Top Management, leadership, and governance skills were the primary considerations in choosing the best Model CENR Office.

CENRO Sta. Cruz, through the innovativeness of CENRO Garcia, was able to come up with initiatives such as the clients waiting lounge where clients experience convenience while waiting on their transactions; Al Fresco Conference Area where the Office can conduct meetings following Covid-19 protocols; Exhibit Area where monthly environmental events are featured; and, storage area for apprehended/confiscated chainsaws which provides a place for its adequate safekeeping while the same are in the custody of CENRO Sta. Cruz.
