The Regional Offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Public Works and Highways of CALABARZON entered into a partnership to expedite the acquisition of the required right-of-way (ROW) and prompt verification and approval of survey plans exclusively for DPWH CALABARZON.

 

The Agreement was formally signed on July 5, 2022 by DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria and DPWH CALABARZON Regional Director Jovel G. Mendoza.

 

With the agreement, there will be an express lane in DENR CALABARZON to process and verify the submitted survey plans and other related documents concerning the projects of DPWH CALABARZON.

 

RD Mendoza expressed his gratitude and considered the event a milestone for both government agencies to fast-track the streamlining processes for the implementation of civil works of infrastructure projects in the region. “As much as we want to get these projects to deliver on time with the approval of this MOA, it will be best for us to facilitate the regional projects much faster because of this agreement”, said RD Mendoza.

 

Meanwhile, RED Tamoria shared that the program of DPWH is ‘Build-Build-Build’ while DENR is ‘Plant-Plant-Plant’, recognizing the agency’s objective to plant more trees.

 

“Sa pamamagitan ng MOA na ito, pinapasimple po natin ang proseso ng ating ahensya, na hindi nasasakripisyo ang dignidad ng programa at ang impact nito sa ating kapaligiran at likas na yaman” said RED Tamoria.

 

DENR CALABARZON OIC Assistant Regional Director Alfredo C. Palencia and Chief of Surveys and Mapping Division Engr. Edgar S. Barraca of DENR CALABARZON; and the OIC ARD Engr. Isidro O. Encarnacion and OIC Office of the Division Chief of Planning and Design Division Engr. Ray Andrew K. Molano of DPWH CALABARZON witnessed the signing ceremony.
