Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON Regional Executive Director, Nilo B. Tamoria led the ceremonial turnover of leadership and responsibilities from the outgoing Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) of Catanauan, Quezon, For. Lupo T. Telan to the incoming Officer-in-Charge, Ramil J. Gutierrez on January 5, 2021 at the DENR-CENR Office, Catanauan, Quezon.

The turnover ceremony was in view of the forthcoming retirement of Telan, the OIC-CENRO of Catanauan, on February 5, 2021. 

In his inspirational message, Tamoria congratulated Gutierrez for being the new OIC-CENRO of Catanauan, and Telan who will soon celebrate more than 40 years in public service. He emphasized that, though there is a change in the leadership, the entire labor force of CENRO Catanauan should continue to work hand in hand for the success of the programs and activities of their office. “Tuloy-tuloy ang ating pagtutulungan para sa CENRO Catanauan,” he said.

Gutierrez said he whole-heartedly accepts his new designation and that, he hopes that his new subordinates will also give their full support to him. “Magkapit-bisig tayo upang magsulong at magsilbi sa taong bayan sa abot ng ating makakaya. I am hoping that all of us here will work as a team to attain the vision and mission of DENR. We have to make sure that our work should always be beyond compliance. Tinatanggap ko po ang hamon at tungkulin ng pagiging CENRO ng Catanauan at nawa ay ibigay nyo po sa akin at sa lahat ng ating mga gagawin ang lubos ninyong suporta,” he said.

DENR CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, Alfredo C. Palencia and Quezon Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Cyril A. Coliflores were also present during the event.

Gutierrez is a Forester by profession who holds a Development Management Officer V at the DENR. He started his public service in 1995. He already served as the OIC of CENRO Pagbilao, Quezon (now Tayabas City) from 2014-2016. Prior to his new assignment, Gutierrez was the OIC of the Conservation and Development Division, DENR CALABARZON from July 2020-December 2021.

Telan currently reports at the Office of the PENR Officer of Quezon until his retirement this February.###
