A complaint sent through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON reported a dumpsite located at Tanza, Cavite that continues to burn styrofoam. The said burning produces unnecessary odor that disturbs the subdivision located next to said dumpsite.

It is under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to fight any fire that will generated in the area. The DENR through the EMB already took action by scheduling a technical conference with the Local Government Units (LGUs) and the industries, as well as the haulers, who were identified discarding their wastes in the dumpsite.

Burning of wastes is a violation of Ecological Solid Waste Management Act or RA 9003. Any violators of RA 9003 shall be subjected to criminal proceedings.
