Calaca City, Batangas - DENR CENRO Calaca through its Monitoring and Enforcement Section, conducted an Information Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign to the newly elected officials of Brgy. Puting Kahoy relative to Operations Against Illegal ENR Activities held at Barangay Hall, Puting Kahoy, Lian Batangas.
 
Forest Technician II and Designated Information Officer, Juvy H. Reytiran discussed the CENRO Calaca ENR Profile while Forester III and Chief of Enforcement and Monitoring Section Judilyn T. Enoc discussed the different Environmental laws, rules and regulations such as tree cutting permit, provisions under Presidential Decree No. 705 or Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, Republic Act No. 9175 also known as the Chainsaw Act, P.D 1586 or Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) System and its relation to Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and Compliance of Non- Coverage (CNC), salient provisions of R.A 9003 also known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, P.D 9147 or the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act.
 
Enoc also highlighted the Salient features and provisions of R.A 7942 or Philippine Mining Act and the different permits that the Local Government Unit issued.
 
The IEC Campaign intends to highlight the role of the Local Government Unit specifically on the barangay level and inform them of the existing laws on the management, conservation, and protection of forest, environment, and natural resources within the jurisdiction of the barangay. Further, it is also conducted to strengthen the partnership and ensure the cooperation of local partners, LGUs, and local communities.###
