TAYABAS CITY | NOVEMBER 29, 2022 - The 4th Quarter Regional Multi-Sectoral Forest Protection Committee (RMFPC) Meeting was hosted by DENR Regional Office together with PENRO Quezon and spearheaded by PG-ENRO Quezon Department Head Manuel Eugenio A. Beloso as the Chairperson of RMFPC. The event was also graced by all Provincial Heads of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of CALABARZON led by their Regional Executive Director Nilo B Tamoria.  Also in attendance are Officers, Heads and representatives of various National Agencies who are members of the Committee.

PENRO Ramil. R. Limpiada of Rizal and PENRO Januel R. Peras of Cavite joined the presidential table and shared their experiences in the protection and conservation of the environment and natural resources, giving more emphasis on the law enforcement aspect.

During the program, PENRO Ronilo L. Salac of Quezon warmly welcomed and expressed his gratitude to everyone in attendance. While RED Tamoria conveyed the importance of the committee in bringing together various agencies of the Government to work together for a common goal of instituting enforcement of the provisions of the law regarding forest protection.  Finally, PG-ENRO Quezon and RMFPC Chairperson Beloso thanked everyone for their continuous efforts to fulfill the mandates of the committee. Furthermore, he reminded everyone on the importance of communication and coordination of the various agency members for a more effective implementation of the committee’s goals and objectives.

The committee discussed the agreements reached on custody of forest products and conveyances apprehended by other agencies, updates on drafted resolution urging all Local Government Units (LGUs) within Region IV-A (CALABARZON) to require lumber dealer or entity engaged in the sale or distribution of forest products to register and coordinate sources, Updates on query regarding issuance of tax declaration to improvements within Protected Areas, Updates of DPWH regarding tree cutting application, turned-over cut logs and replacement seedlings, and presentation of accomplishment reports of committee members in relation to Forest and Environment Protection Activities.
