PENR Officer Eriberto B. Saños has been selected by the University of the Philippines Los Baños Alumni Association, Inc. as School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM) Distinguished Alumni Awardee for Government Service (National). Likewise, he presented the significant accomplishments of PENRO Laguna in relation to the Battle for Manila Bay during the SESAM Alumni Homecoming Symposium.

Forester Eriberto B. Saños earned his Masteral Degree in Environmental Studies at the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1998, where he also completed his BS in Forestry in 1986 and attained his Diploma in Agribusiness Management in 1992. In 2016, PENRO Saños was conferred Career Executive Service Eligible (CESE) by the Career Executive Service Board (CESB). 

He has been an environmental warrior for more than three (3) decades now. He was also awarded as Bayani ng Kalikasan (Environmental Hero) by the DENR on June 11, 2001 in recognition of his contribution and dedication in the service of environmental protection and advocacy. He rose up the ranks and is now designated as the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) of Laguna. Prior to that, he served as the PENRO of Palawan for three years. His other notable positions held were CENRO in the towns of Taytay and Coron in Palawan; Calaca in Batangas; and Cavite.

Aside from his invaluable skills and proficiency on Environmental topics, he is also an expert in Rizalism and the life and works of Dr. Jose Rizal. He is a member of the Universal Rizalist Brotherhood Association, Inc. and authored the Pasyong Rizal and Pasyon ng Inang Kalikasan. The Pasyon ng Inang Kalikasan has been featured in the official Newsletter of the DENR – Kalikasan (Volume 5 No. 1, March 2018 issue).
