Sta. Lucia Dolores, Quezon - The nationwide simultaneous bamboo and tree planting activity, with the theme "Buhayin ang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan," was hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-PENRO) in Quezon in collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Quezon and the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Quezon.

Mayor Orlan A. Calayag, mayor of Dolores, Quezon, emphasized that the tree-growing activity is a clear manifestation of strong implementation of the principle of survival and also stated the connection of the environment to all human lives. For the benefit of the next generation, PENRO Ronilo L. Salac emphasized the need to carry out such initiatives. PD Darrell I. Dizon, CESO V, the Provincial Director of DILG Quezon, gave the closing remarks and addressed environmental issues and stressed everyone's responsibility for preserving the environment. CENRO Cyril A. Coliflores of CENRO Tayabas was also present during the event.

A total of 200 propagules, composed of Kawayang Tinik and Taywanak, were planted during the activity. It was attended by personnel from DENR-PENRO Quezon, DENR-CENRO Tayabas City, DA-Quezon, representatives from the Provincial Government (PGENRO, Provincial Agriculture and PDRRMO), MLGU Dolores led by Mayor Orlan A. Calayag, Quezon, BLGU Sta. Lucia, Dolores, Quezon led by the Barangay Chairman Mario S. Pia, and the DILG-Quezon with a total of 111 participants.
