A tree planting activity was conducted at Purok Canumay, Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo City as an initiative by Joan A. Lagunda, DENR Assistant Secretary for Field Operations for Mindanao and Legislative Affair.

The activity was assisted by Benito L. Dolor, Chief of Monitoring and Enforcement Section of Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office - Rizal. The said activity was also attended by several individuals from groups like National Defense College of the Philippines and National Greening Program Provincial Coordinating Office of Rizal.

The tree planting activity resulted in the planting of 630 trees of varying species within a Special Protection Zone inside the Protected Area of Upper Marikina River Basin and Protected Landscape (UMBRPL). The event concluded with the closing remarks of ASEC Lagunda into which she gave clear instructions to monitor the planted trees with close supervision by the PENRO and NGP Provincial Coordinating Office of Rizal in order to ensure the survival of the planted trees.
