Nagcarlan, Laguna – Fourteen wildlife species were rehabilitated and released by the DENR CALABARZON Regional Wildlife Rescue Center (RWRC) in Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape on 21 July 2022 headed by For. Raymund F. Mercurio, In-Charge of RWRC together with the Barangay Chairpersons of Malaya and San Francisco, Nagcarlan, Laguna.

Prior to the return to natural habitat activity, all wildlife species underwent months of rehabilitation and proper care in the RWRC. Further, a fit-to-release certificate from the Provincial Veterinary Office and certification from the barangays concerned were secured to ensure that the wildlife species were all fit for release.

A total of ten (10) Reticulated Python, two (2) Southern Cloud Rat, one (1) Civet and one (1) Brahminy Kite were released in MBSCPL Laguna side.  The release site will be closely monitored by Forest Rangers and concerned Protected Area Management Offices of MBSCPL as part of the post-monitoring procedure. Moreover, a continuous Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign will be conducted in order to continue to raise awareness of wildlife protection and conservation.
