DENR CENRO Lipa enjoins the celebration of Arbor Day observed every 25th of June and the 159th Year of Philippine Forestry Service. On June 25, 2022, a tree planting activity was conducted in Brgy. Pagaspas, Tanauan City and Brgy. Poblacion 1, Sto. Tomas City, Batangas which was attended by the staff and personnel of CENRO Lipa together with the barangay communities and river rangers. A total of 100 tree seedlings composed of 30 Narra (Pterocarpus indicus), 50 Molave (Vitex parviflora), 10 Dita (Alstonia scholaris), 10 Dao (Dracontomelon dao) were planted.

Philippine Arbor Day is observed throughout the nation by planting trees and ornamental plants every June 25 by virtue of the Proclamation No. 643 signed in 2004. Planting of trees along riverbanks reinforce protection, stabilize soil, and help improve biodiversity and mitigate impacts of climate change. In celebration of the 2022 Arbor Day, CENRO Lipa enjoins the call towards the protection and sustainable use of the country’s natural resources.
