Gumaca, QUEZON ― The DENR-CENRO Calauag conducts a joint tree growing activity with the uniformed personnel (UP) of Gumaca, Quezon along Pipisik River, in celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2022.

With this year’s theme, “Sambayanang Pilipino, Nagkakaisa Tungo sa Katatagan at Maunlad na Kinabukasan,” the CENRO Calauag, Quezon headed by CENR Officer Joselito D. Barros conveys the message of the recently concluded kick off activity with the uniformed personnel ― to join hand-in-hand in times of disasters and calamities.

The celebration of the said environmental event emphasizes the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges of climate change and disaster risk reduction and management during times of calamity.

Forester II Aleli C. Alvarez encouraged the participants to continuously support all the priority programs and projects of DENR. The Forester also emphasized the “Tayo Ang Kalikasan (TAK)” as a platform of the DENR for the conservation and protection of our environment and natural resources, and further explained the significance and benefits of plants and planting of trees to the changing climate.

Moreover, the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Chief of Gumaca Charlie Beltran expressed his gratitude for the support of DENR, particularly in the provision of seedlings, and for other agencies’ time and effort in making the activity possible.

A total of 150 Guyabano seedlings were planted by uniformed personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Gumaca, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Gumaca, and Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Gumaca, as well as partakers from MENR Office of Gumaca and CENRO Calauag.

CENRO Calauag looks forward to a stronger link between their office and the said offices, especially now that the potential detrimental weather systems are approaching that may affect the country starting July 2022.
