The Maulawin Spring Protected Landscape (MSPL) of CENRO Calauag, Quezon facilitated a 2-day capacity building for its Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) members and Protected Area Management Office (PAMO) personnel, In addition, a Paralegal Training and 1st Special PAMB meeting for CY 2022 were also held at the conference hall of Villa Paraiso Hotel and Restaurant, Brgy. Sta. Maria, Calauag, Quezon. 

The 2-day activity aims to familiarize the PAMO staff and PAMB members on their duties and responsibilities related to the conservation and protection of the MSPL. It also intends to provide the basics and importance of being a paralegal in order to improve their decision-making in performing tasks in legal-related circumstances.

The basics of parliamentary procedures, awareness regarding the existing forestry laws in the country, and RA 11038 also known as the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (NIPAS) Act and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR) were also discussed in the capacitation.

The discussions were provided by resource speakers, Atty. Marianito Dio Jr. and Atty. Aries Matibag from Regional Office Legal Division, and attended by PAMB members, and personnel from the CENRO Calauag and PENRO Quezon.

Meanwhile, the 1st Special PAMB Meeting was called in order to discussed adoption and approval of the predetermined management zones of Multiple Use Zone (MUZ) and Strict Protection Zone (SPZ) of MSPL, Also, the approval and endorsement of the 8-Year Strategic Communication Action Plan of MSPL. 

At the end of the 2-day activity, the participants have been familiar with their duties and responsibilities, learned the basics and importance of being a paralegal, oriented on the fundamentals of parliamentary procedures, and advanced knowledge in the implementing rules and regulations of existing forestry laws in the country and the RA 11038.
