Calamba City, Laguna - As the onset of the dry season officially starts, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON in partnership with Bureau of Fire Protection Calamba, has conducted a Fire Safety Seminar attended by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Emergency Response Committee of DENR CALABARZON.

“Alam naman natin na dahil sa climate change, ang mga kaso ng disaster ay palaging nakabadya, kaya dapat bago pa mangyari ang disaster ay may prevention na tayong ginagawa”, emphasized by DENR CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director for Special Concerns Jose Elmer Bascos.

The training focused on fire brigade organization, chemistry and classes of fire, fire fighting equipment, and a briefing on emergency and evacuation procedures. A practicum and actual handling of fire fighting equipment were also conducted to increase the retention of information.
