GUMACA, Quezon ― Personnel of CENRO Calauag, Quezon, with some partakers from the Gumaca MENRO and Gumaca Tree Planters and Pallet Makers Agriculture Cooperative (GTPPMAC), posed for a moment during a cleanup drive for Pipisik River. Said activity was held on 22 March 2022, simultaneous with this year’s celebration of World Water Day.

The theme, “Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible,” focuses on the safekeeping of our groundwater that is not naked from the Earth’s surface. Activities related to raising awareness on the conservation and protection of our water sources are encouraged through the celebration.

Last 19 January 2022, the CENRO Calauag and LGU of Gumaca had a verbal agreement to improve the said portion of the river by conducting a coastal cleanup every last Tuesday of the month. Said cleanup was rescheduled only for this month, 22 March, to view the celebration of World Water Day 2022.

This initiative is expected to continue in the following months.
