Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Tayabas conducted an impact monitoring of ecotourism activities at the Quezon Protected Landscape (QPL) this March, pursuant to the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) Technical Bulletin No. 2014-03.

Spearheaded by the Conservation and Development Section (CDS), a socio-economic survey and resource monitoring were conducted through focus group discussion (FGD), Key Informant Interview (KII), and trail resource assessment and monitoring (TRAM) within the protected area. This activity aims to determine the impact of ecotourism on the quality of life of the host communities, particularly, in providing livelihood opportunities, increasing household income, and to assess visitors' impact on the biodiversity and ecology of ecotourism destinations within QPL.

The result from this activity will be used to establish a baseline data to be used as a guide for comparing subsequent monitoring results.
