The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Marikina Watershed Bamboo Plantation establishment was held among DENR Calabarzon, Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBIDC), Rotary Club, and People’s Organization at the DENR Central Office Main Building Lobby, Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.

The activity highlighted the partnership of private and community based associations through MOA signing between private partners, the Rotary Club, Philippine Bamboo Professionals Inc., Phil. Bamboo Foundation Inc., PBIDC, the People's Organization of Samahan ng Karugo Agri-Farmers Ass. (SAKAFA) and the Tribal Council Association of Puray Inc. (TCAPI), with RED Nilo B. Tamoria which represents the DENR in the Quadripartite Agreement.

Regional Executive Director (RED) Nilo B.Tamoria also acknowledged the active participation of people’s organizations of Rizal in the implementation of various projects under E-NGP and TF-BBB and that support from private partners is highly enjoined to sustain collaborative efforts and promote community-based programs to mitigate degradation of the watersheds.

Doctor Madarang outlined the series of activities undertaken by the Rotarians starting from the year 2020 to present where the planting stocks in the production nursery of SAKAFA is ready for transplant. With this, the Rotarians considered funding the production and planting of bamboo planting stocks in partnership with qualified POs and with the technical support from PENRO Rizal.

President of SAKAFA Mr. Edgar Mariano and TCAPI President Mr. Angelito Cruz extended their gratitude with the grant of the project and financial support from Rotary.  With this, they pledge to accomplish the project awarded to their respective organizations.

Ceremonial signing for 20 has. bamboo plantation MOA was awarded to SAKAFA and another 20 has. bamboo plantation MOA was awarded to TCAPI. The two POs also signed a pledge designating them as the official TAK chapter in Rizal. Preparation for the location of the planting site shall be in accordance with the PENR Office.
