
Catanauan, Quezon─ OIC, CENRO Ramil J. Gutierrez promotes DENR projects and activities in line with the 10 Priority Programs of DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to clients and stakeholders of CENRO Catanauan, Quezon during the TeleRadio guesting with the STAN Up Balikatan Para sa Sulong Quezon Radio Program on January 24, 2022 at Lucena City.
The radio host, Celine Tutor asked CENRO Gutierrez about the activities conducted for managing Forests and Forest Lands and other conservation initiatives for watersheds. CENRO Ramil answered that one of the main activities of CENRO Catanauan is the provision of Technical Assistance to concerned LGUs in the Formulation and Adoption of Forest Land Use Plan (FLUP) in which five out of eight municipalities has already been adopted the said plan with a specific program of activities to be implemented by LGUs with the purpose of managing open access forests and forestlands. “We also have Protected Area Management Plans specifically for managing three Protected Areas within the area of responsibility of CENRO Catanauan such as Buenavista Protected Landscape (BPL), Alibijaban Wilderness Area (AWA), and Mulanay Watershed Forest Reserve (MWFR), which is also an important plan to ensure protection and conservation of said PAs, through the adoption of watershed approach", he added.
He also highlighted the process for the issuance of permits (cutting and transport permit) and Private Tree Plantation Registration (PTPR) including Land Titling and Chainsaw registration under the Regulation and Permitting Section.
“We knew that managing and protecting our Environment and Natural Resources is a responsibility of all, not just the DENR alone, so I am encouraging everyone to be our partner in this endeavor and seek assistance from our DENR personnel in securing necessary permits”, he said.###
