CATANAUAN, QUEZON – The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office supervised the Tree Planting Activity of the Elite Eagles Club of Catanauan, Quezon held on November 13, 2021 in Brgy. Canculajao, Catanauan, Quezon.

The Elite Eagles Club of Catanauan, Quezon spearheaded a Tree Planting Activity through the supervision of CENRO Catanauan personnel. Said activity was assisted by the personnel of the Conservation and Development Section by conducting site preparation activities such as ring weeding, staking, and hole digging in the plantation site 135.0 hectares Streambank Plantation CY 2012 located at Brgy. Canculajao, Catanauan, Quezon on November 12, 2021. The Tree Planting Activity was conducted on November 13, 2021 and participated by the Elite Eagles Club members and Barangay Officials of aforementioned Barangay which was composed of twenty-eight (28) male and seven (7) female with a total of thirty-five (35) participants. 

After the Tree Planting Activity, a short program and feeding program for the children of the Barangay was conducted by the Organization wherein they extend their thanks to all participants especially to DENR-CENRO Catanauan for supporting their activity and providing seedlings in helping our environment. The activity aims to conserve and protect the remaining trees and forests in the municipality of Catanauan, Quezon. Likewise, the area was chosen in line with the ten (10) priority programs of DENR and to support the graduated NGP Sites in the jurisdiction of CENRO Catanauan, Quezon. A total of two hundred (200) seedlings were planted which composed of one hundred Narra (Pterocarpus indicus) and one hundred (100) Kalumpit (Terminalia microcarpa). Said seedlings were planted on the Streambank to prevent floods and soil erosion in the area. ###
