Trece Martires City, Cavite – DENR Cavite personnel headed by PENRO Januel R. Peras, Chief, TSD Reynaldo A. Belen, and Chief, MSD Froilan Q. Remulla warmly welcomed the DENR Assistant Secretary (ASEC) for Field Operations – Mindanao and Legislative Affairs LTC Joan A Lagunda as she visited the humble office of PENRO Cavite as well as the satellite office of PROJECT H.O.P.E (Harmony of the People and Environment) in Barangay Bagtas, Tanza, Cavite on 15 November 2021.
 
ASEC Lagunda also had a courtesy call with the Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) situated in Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza, Cavite following the marching order from DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to strengthen the department’s partnership with the Philippine Army and its reservists in the pursuit of environmental protection and conservation. BGEN Fernando V. Felipe, Camp Commander of ARESCOM, accorded a military welcome to ASEC Lagunda and PENRO Cavite personnel. Afterwards, they monitored and inspected the apprehended forest products that were temporarily impounded and put under the ARESCOM’s custody. The DENR group also toured around the premises of the camp base for familiarity. It was followed by a meeting to discuss several interventions to strengthen the military partnership towards environmental protection and conservation in the Province.
 
As a continuing support to the National Greening Program (NGP) and as part of the field visit, a tree planting activity was also undertaken within the premises of ARESCOM. Almost one hundred (100) fruit bearing and indigenous trees were planted by ASEC Joan A Lagunda, BGEN Fernado V. Felipa, PENRO Januel R. Peras and other reservist volunteers. ###
