Fifty-five (55) volunteers from District 301-A2, Cavite Lions Club International led by its District Governor USEC Benny Antiporda together with DENR IV-A and PENRO Cavite participated the clean-up and mangrove planting activities in Brgy. San Rafael IV, Noveleta, Cavite on June 20, 2021.

A total of eight (8 ) sacks of wastes were collected comprised of single use plastics, styrofoam, worn-out clothes, and plastic PET bottles. These garbage are results from mismanaged solidwastes in the nearby households. As part of the on-going Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program, we highly encourage the local community to practice proper waste segregation at the household level to avoid the adverse effect of pollution to the environment. In addition, one hundred thirty (130) seedlings of Api-Api were also planted in the area specifically along Ylang-Ylang river in observance for the upcoming Arbor Day Celebration.

Furthermore, PENRO Cavite thru its Manila Bay Site Coordinating Management Office (MBSCMO) Cavite rescued and released an Olive Ridley sea turtle with a carapace measurement of 63cm x 64cm. The said sea turtle was recovered by Bacoor City River Ranger along the coastal area of Barangay Zapote V, and was released in Barangay Labac, Naic, Cavite in coordination with MENRO Naic.
