As a follow-up activity in the conducted release of 7 heads of Brahminy Kite in Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape last March 3, a Communication, Education, and Public Awareness Activity was conducted in Brgy. Ayuti and Brgy. Samil, Lucban, Quezon to apprise the surrounding communities with the policies stipulated in RA 9147.

RA 9147 aims

(a) to conserve and protect wildlife species and their habitats to promote ecological balance and enhance biological diversity;

(b) to regulate the collection and trade of wildlife;

(c) to pursue, with due regard to the national interest, the Philippine commitment to international conventions, protection of wildlife and their habitats; and

(d) to initiate or support scientific studies on the conservation of biological diversity.

OIC-Chief of the DENR CALABARZON Conservation and Development Division For. Ramil Gutierrez recognized the importance of the support of the Barangays in the implementation of RA 9147 as well as the RA 11038 or the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System Act. "At least sa level ninyo, alam niyo na pag may nagviolate at mabilis nating maipaparating sa kinauukulan upang maaksyonan. Gusto po sana natin na matulungan niyo po kami na mahuli natin ang mga gumagawa ng violation," For. Gutierrez said.

MBSCPL Protected Area Superintendent Sally Pangan also emphasized that there is also an existing RA 9847 for MBSCPL which shall also be observed in the area.

Further, For. Raymund Mercurio, In-Charge of the Regional Wildlife Rescue Center, facilitated the discussion during the CEPA.
