PENRO Laguna conducted a Consultation Meeting with Civil Society Organizations and Key Stakeholders on the Work and Financial Plan for fiscal year 2021 in the newly renovated Multipurpose Hall last January 18, 2021. The said meeting was attended by various partner People's Organizations and LGUs within the province either virtually through the Zoom Application or face-to-face encounter. PENRO Ronilo L. Salac, CENRO Victor H. Mercado, Division Chiefs, Section Chiefs, Unit Heads, and planning staff also joined the meeting. The office opted to utilize both platforms to minimize health risks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PENRO Laguna aims to be more transparent to the public most especially to its key partners in its environmental protection endeavors the reason behind they discussed during the meeting the set of projects and activities to be undertaken in the province this year with its corresponding budget. Likewise, to solicit support to better implement these projects. Through the consultation meeting, LGUs and POs also shared their ideas and suggestions on what programs, projects and activities are more suitable and relevant to their respective communities, which will be the basis of PENRO Laguna and CENRO Sta. Cruz in its forward planning for FY 2022 and the years to come.

PENRO Ronilo L. Salac in his message pointed out the importance of transparency and strengthened partnership & collaborations between the DENR and the LGUs and partner organizations to better protect the environment and natural resources in the province.

Status on the forest cover, conservation of flora and fauna and water quality of major river systems were also presented by the Conservation and Development Section (CDS) through For. Melvin L. Lalican. Moreover, the status of clean air, clean water and solid waste management programs in the province were also discussed by the EMB Laguna through For. Laureana C. Estorque.
