A total of 120 trees of Narra (Pterocarpus indicus) were planted along the river banks of Brgy. Poblacion II, Tanauan City, Batangas and Brgy. Sta, Maria, Sto. Tomas City, Batangas on July 10, 2020. The activity is in line with the Enhanced National Greening Program or E.O. No. 193, s. 2015 enrolled under the umbrella of “Tayo ang Kalikasan” and in celebration of the National Arbor Day. It was participated-in by a total of 30 barangay officials from both Poblacion II and Sta. Maria and personnel of DENR CENRO Lipa headed by CENR Officer Januel Peras with Senior EMS Josefa Lozada and For. III Flordeliza Olave.

A brief Information, Education and Communication campaign was delivered by CENRO Peras quoting that Arbor day is not just about planting of trees, but also other environment-related activities such as river clean up. CENRO Peras also emphasized the major role of the community to nurture and maintain the planted seedlings for higher chance of survival.
