In celebration of National Arbor Day 2020 with the themed " Celebrating the 2020 National Arbor Day to Combat the COVID-19 Pandemic: Healing Mother Earth through Sustainable Forest Management". 

The Society of Filipino Forester Inc. (SFFI) CALABARZON Regional CHAPTER of DENR Region IVA,  conducted a mangrove tree planting and coastal clean up in Bon-Bon Islet at Brgy.Talisay Calatagan Batangas this day, June 25,2020. 

Moreover, ARD- MS/ SFFI CALABARZON Chapter President- Forester Nelson Gorospe, ARD-TS/ Forester Alfredo Palencia,Incoming OIC CENRO of Calaca- Forester Isagani Amatorio and Selected Personnel/foresters from DENR Regional Office, PENRO Batangas and CENRO Calaca participated on the said event. 

During the said activity, an IEC Lecture about brief history of Arbor Day, importance of tree planting and different mangrove tree species present on the said mangrove area was discussed by outgoing OIC- CENRO Calaca Januel Peras. 

"Sa pagtatanim ng puno dapat committed sa isip,salita at sa gawa" ARD TS/Forester Palencia said during his closing remarks. He also challenge every foresters present to influence others to plant more trees, as foresters aim for the sustainability of our natural resources. 

Lastly, 500 propagules of “ Kalapinay” (Avicennia marina), “Bakawang Lalaki” (Rhizophora apiculata),”Bakawang Bato” (r. stylosa) and “Bakawang Babae” (r. mucronata) were planted within the 2014 NGP site and 6 sacks of trash were also collected. ###
