To further implement activities under the Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Management Program (CMEMP) of CENRO Calauag, another coastal clean-up activity and Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign was conducted and facilitated by its personnel in Brgy. Mal-ay, Lopez, Quezon, May 11, 2021.

This activity aims to restore our nature back and keep our marine environment healthy through this social distance friendly activity. Thus, convincing our community to become better stewards of our environment.

The aforementioned was attended and participated by CENRO Calauag personnel headed by CENR Officer Joselito D. Barros. Also present in this activity were MENRO of Lopez, Quezon, Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Officials of Brgy. Mal-ay, Lopez, Quezon.

The successful conduct of the event resulted to the collection of garbage and debris that have been sunk in the ocean which inflicts great danger on marine life. Garbage collected were mostly composed of non-biodegradable waste materials such as plastic sachets, plastic bottles, diapers, among others.

CENRO Calauag headed by CENR Officer Joselito D. Barros is expected to continuously initiate environmental cause-oriented activities in order to promote environmental protection and preservation of coastal and marine resources.
