As part of the maintenance and protection of coastal and marine resources, SCUBAsurero/ Underwater Clean-up activities were conducted on Spetember 23, 2020 in two dive sites - Monte Carlo in Brgy. Majuben and Matutunggil (Matu) Point in Brgy. San Jose, Mabini, Batangas which is part of the proposed Solo- San Jose Marine Protected Area (MPA).

It was facilitated by licensed divers from Conservation and Development Section and participated-in by divers and representatives from Batangas Community Divers Seal Inc. (BCDSI), Green Fins member resorts and Bantay-Dagat-Mabini.

Two sacks of trash weighing approximately 66 kg were gathered/collected wherein majority of the collected waste are food wrappers and other packaging materials plastic bags, cloth piece and tires.

Be informed that all precautionary measures and safety protocols re: COVID-19 threat were properly practiced and observed during the said activity.
