DENR CENRO Calaca joins the celebration of International Coastal Clean Up

In celebration of International Coastal Cleanup 2020 the DENR CENRO Calaca conducted Coastal Cleanup and Scubasurero today, September 19, 2020, at Brgy. Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas.

The said activity was made possible by selected employees of CENRO Calaca headed by OIC CENRO Isagani Q. Amatorio, representatives from MENRO, LGU barangay of Matabungkay and PNP Lian. The number of participants was limited to maintain social distancing during the conduct of activity.

Before the coastal cleanup, an IEC lecture were conducted, re: short history of International Coastal Cleanup, ways on how to help oceans even at home such as practice of 3R's and common trash that can be found along the ocean and the time it takes to decompose.

During the coastal cleanup, the participants are divided into groups and each of them submitted data of the trash collected using "Clean Swell" app.

After the coastal cleanup and Scubasurero, a total of 19 trash bags were collected

Health and safety measures against COVID-19 were properly observed and practiced during the activity.
