DENR CALABARZON officially enters into an agreement with 11 Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) holders and 2 People's Organizations for the “Offset Bamboo Plantation Program” within the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape in Antipolo City on September 18, 2020.

Such undertaking is in line with the recent instruction of Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to establish and maintain bamboo plantation equivalent to a total of at least 20% of the final mining/mined-out areas of the Mining Contractors/Permittees/Permit Holders. The Program is set under the umbrella of the DENR’s “Tayo ang Kalikasan” advocacy to restore, rehabilitate and develop the forest lands in a sustainable manner.

The MOA signing was also held in celebration of the World Bamboo Day themed “Pamanang Kawayan: Luntiang Ginto ng Kagubatan”.
