One Brahminy Kite turned-over to DENR CENRO Calaca

Turned over of one (1) Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) to this Office by the Barangay Officials of Brgy.Aga, Nasugbu Batangas today June 12, 2020.

The said widlife was reportedly rescued with an injury on its right wing. Further, the wildlife was temporarily placed under the custody of DV Boer Farm located in Brgy. Balibago, Lian Batangas for treatment of the ailment prior to its eventual release to the wild.

According to the Biodiversity Management Bureau, the Brahminy kite (Haliastur indus) naturally an inhabitant of the country, is considered an endangered species. The acquisition, possession, transport, and trade of this species are subject to permit from the DENR, in accordance with the provisions of RA 9147.
