Para sa Kalinisan ng Manila Bay, Magkaisa Tayo!
Department of Environment and Natural Resources Manila Bay Coordinating Office-Site Management Office 4 (DENR MBCO-SMO4) Deputy Site Manager Dr. Domingo Bravo (right), Engr. Ernesto C. Cenizal Jr. of the Provincial Government-ENR Office of Cavite (center) and Mr. Adan Umipig of Environmental Management Bureau-CALABARZON (left) lead the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon to formally open to the public the three-day-exhibit-cum-forum at the Event Center of SM City-Dasmariñas on Wednesday, November 27. Guided by the theme “Para sa Kalinisan ng Manila Bay, Magkaisa Tayo!” the activity also gathered media practitioners in Cavite to help inform the public on the status of health and rehabilitation efforts of 14 government agencies mobilized by the Supreme Court via a mandamus to rehabilitate or ‘clean’ and preserve Manila Bay. Agencies given the mandatory order to rehabilitate Manila Bay are: the DENR, Departments of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR), DA-Bureau of Soil and Water Management (DA-BSWM), Health (DOH), Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Education(DepEd), Interior and Local Government (DILG), Budget and Management (DBM), Philippine National Police-Maritime Group (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The Provincial Governments of Laguna, Cavite and Rizal, and the private corporations and academic institutions in the area have also signified support. Discussions, video presentations, interactions on the exhibit took place from November 27 to 29, 2013.
