Trash Boat for Tanza, Cavite Manila Bay Coastal Cleanup

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)- Manila Bay Coordinating Office Executive Assistant Floradema Colorado, representing MBCO Director Noel Antonio V. Gaerlan, presents the donation documents to Tanza Mayor Marcus Ashley C. Arayata which formalized the turn-over of trash boat in support to the solid waste management efforts to clean up Manila Bay along the Tanza, Cavite shores, and which highlighted the Monday flag raising ceremonies on July 27, 2015.

 

The state-of-the art 30’ x 12’ x 3.5’ trash boat worth PhP1.592 million, powered by a 115 horsepower, 4-cycle Yamaha engine, and equipped with specially designed stainless steel rake and adjustable vertical scooper is expected to boost Tanza’s conduct of at least twice a week collection of trash.

Mayor Arayata expressed appreciation for DENR’s support and placed the boat’s maintenance and operation under the Tanza Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office headed by MENR Officer, concurrently Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Officer Menandro R. Maranan (rightmost). Witnessing the turn over rites were Cavite Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Rolinio Pozas (center), representing DENR Region 4A CALABARZON Regional Director Reynulfo Juan, and Regional Public Afffairs Office Chief Gaudencio Audie L. de la Cruz (2nd from right).
