Shredder for World Environment Day to check woes on domestic garbage

      Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 4A CALABARZON Assistant Regional Director Arturo Fadriquela, representing  Regional Director Reynulfo A. Juan (left photo 2nd from left) is briefed by Bacoor City Environment and Natural Resources Officer  Rolando R. Vocalan on the efforts of the city local government to check on domestic solid waste and to make useful products of of the discards such as charcoal from woodchips, twigs and leaves, and fertilizer from the residual wastes, tiles for landscaping from mixed discarded plastic and cement.  Vocalan said he has the support of Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla (left) and the city’s Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla who provided two mobile motorized shredder-pulverizer-decorticator for use of the city’s barangays with Barangay Molino 3, 4 and 7 as pilot areas. He said other barangays can avail of the equipment, they just have to provide for the gasoline for the machines. Fadriquela was amazed at the city’s concern for the environment and their successful implementation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
