DENR Region 4A-CALABARZON has 75 new Civil Service eligibles

Twenty-four of 75 Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 4A CALABARZON employees who passed the eligibility examinations administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on June 16, 2013 were awarded their Certificates of Eligibility from the CSC represented by Director Emma B. Barrera of the CSC Field Office in Laguna and Supervising Personnel Specialist Jeffrey C. Cruz of the CSC Region IV-A  Examination Services Division in rites held at the DENR Region 4A-CALABARZON Office in Calamba City on Monday, September 9. 

The June examination was a Special Career Service Examination - Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) administered exclusively for DENR and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) employees. CSC Director Barrera revealed that the passing grade was 80 per cent.

From the 24, Aldrin Q. de Roxas stands out having garnered the highest with a general weighted rating of 85.91 percent. De Roxas, a contractual computer operator at the DENR-Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau took the special Civil Service examinations last June 16, 2013 in Batangas City. There were 16 other CSC testing centers nationwide.

Atty. Marlou Alutaya, DENR Region 4A Administrative Division Chief appreciated the CSC field office’s efforts, “It’s a great honor, we are indeed privileged that the CSC through Dir. Barrera and Dir.Cruz are here to award the certificates of eligibility to our employees. Our employees who passed the CSC examination.”

Alutaya said, “Our Office have exerted much effort to have our employees get the necessary eligibilities. We organized and encouraged them to attend review sessions.”

DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Reynulfo A. Juan said he was satisfied with the outcome of the examinations. He said, “The new eligibles have a greater chance to get a better position in their respective offices or in other government agencies depending on which career path they want to take.”.

Juan offered another incentive, “I saw the ratings of the passers and the passing rate is 80 percent, so if there would be someone who got an average rating of 85 percent and above, I would give a cash reward.”

Aside from Aldrin Q. de Roxas, Analyn R. Pasagdan, another contractual employee appointed as Science Research Assistant, also at ERDB in Los Baños, was given the cash reward. Pasagdan’s general weighted rating was 85.37 percent.

Director Barrera remarked, “Eligibility comes with responsibility, and responsibility comes with accountability.”.

She said having passed the CSE is already an edge to be a good public servant.
